In close proximity to the town of Embrun, your holiday apartment in Chorges will take place at the foot of the mountains near the Serre Ponçon Lake.

The Serre Ponçon Lake is the largest artificial lake in Europe. From the hotel you will be able to :

The Embrun region :
You will be able to visit the lovely town of Embrun as it is very close to your holiday apartment and appreciate the views from its dominant position over the Serre Ponçon Lake as well as enjoying superb walks between the lake and mountain as well as the maze of old streets in the town.
For nature lovers and fans of the great outdoors, Serre du Villard is situated at the foot of the Ecrins National Park.
Also, not far from Embrun, you will be able to discover Savines - a village which was entirely reconstructed when the lake was dammed.

The Serre Ponçon Lake :
This is the biggest artificial lake in France with 1.2 billion m³ of water flowing down from the Durance River in the High Alps and the Ubaye River in the Alps of High Provence. It is situated at an altitude of 780 m and has a surface area of 2800 ha (the lake is as big as the lake at Annecy).
The Provencal climate and the facilities which are perfectly adapted to this extremely pure water make the Serre Ponçon Lake a paradise for all nautical sports as well as for fishermen.

The Southern Alps :
Apart from the great variety of leisure and sporting activities and wonderful countryside which changes colour according to the seasons, here is a list of some unmissable sites to visit during your holiday in the Southern Alps:
