AQUITAINE  ARCACHON

VILLA REGINA - ARCACHON HOLIDAY RESIDENCE

Holidays on the Atlantic Coast

Washed by the waters of the ocean and lulled by the sound of the breakers crashing onto the beaches, the Atlantic coast has nothing to prove in comparison to other French coastlines.  A wild coast stretching along part of some of the most beautiful regions in France such as Brittany, the Loire and Aquitaine, could not possibly leave you indifferent.

Your holiday let in Arcachon

In the heart of Les Landes de Gascogne, in the countryside of Buch and not far from the vineyards of Bordeaux, you will discover the town of Arcachon and its extravagant past.  Stop here for at least a weekend or, better still a week, to absorb the atmosphere of the town and discover its many different facets.

To accompany you on this adventure, the holiday lets at the Villa Regina are open all year round.

Located in the winter town in Arcachon, the residence will delight you with its Second Empire style of architecture which fits in so well with the picturesque architecture in the rest of the town.  Originally built to house visitors in poor health, the winter town has earned its reputation by making the most of the natural qualities which come from its geographical position.  Sea air and the balsamic essence of pines are said to have curative powers ... So, to keep patients warm and protect them from draughts, the roads in this part of the town never cross at right angles ...

To get to know Arcachon, the Villa Regina is the best place to be.  Just 600m from the beach and 400m from the town centre, you will be charmed by this residence with its upmarket feel and its warm welcome.

Arcachon and the surrounding area

Located in the middle of the Atlantic coast and on the edge of the forest of Les Landes, the seaside resort of Arcachon is the best place on the coast for visiting the region.

But before you do that, take the time to explore Arcachon itself: its fine sandy beaches, its oyster farms, walks and bike rides, the local cuisine, its higgledy-piggledly bourgeois buildings, its fishing villages, its museums, its island bird sanctuary ... You must admit, it would be a pity to miss so many interesting and varied activities.

Carry on till you reach the biggest dune in Europe, la dune de Pilat.  You will be impressed by its size – 500m from east to west and 2.7 kms from north to south.

From the top of the dune, you should be able to see Cap Ferret and its brightly painted houses.  This is a good opportunity to take a boat trip and explore this upmarket place with its famous lighthouse and watch the movements of vessels in the shipping lanes heading out to sea.
